ALMINAL chemicals

ALMINAL chemicals

Product Overview

ALMINAL is a specialized metallurgical treatment product designed for the reduction of aluminium in copper-base alloys. Excess aluminium in copper alloys can promote oxide formation and inclusions, which may negatively affect casting quality. ALMINAL is used during melt treatment to help bring unwanted aluminium under control and obtain a cleaner, more suitable melt for subsequent processing.

Applications

ALMINAL can be considered for copper-base alloy foundry operations where aluminium needs to be reduced, including applications involving:

  • Copper-base alloys
  • Brass and bronze melting
  • Recycled/scrap copper-alloy charges
  • Foundry melt correction
  • Aluminium-contaminated copper alloys

Instructions for use :

During melt treatment, ALMINAL is introduced to the molten copper-base alloy to assist in the removal of unwanted aluminium. The treatment is intended to separate aluminium from the useful metal phase so that the resulting melt can be brought closer to the required composition.
