Product Overview

SLAX is a specialized foundry treatment used to help condition and manage slag/dross during molten-metal processing. It supports improved separation of unwanted oxides and impurities from the useful metal, helping maintain a cleaner melt.

Purpose

During melting, oxidation and impurities can produce slag and dross on the surface of molten metal. SLAX helps condition this material so it can be more effectively separated from the metal.

Instructions for use :

  • Add SLAX directly onto the accumulated slag/dross on the molten-metal surface.
  • Allow the material to react with the slag and condition the dross.
  • Gently work the treated slag as recommended for the furnace operation.
  • Allow the useful metal to separate from the treated dross.
  • Gather the conditioned dross and remove it from the melt.
  • Avoid excessive stirring of the clean molten metal after dross removal.
  • Complete the final melt treatment and proceed with skimming and pouring.
