Product Overview

ZINCFLUX is a specialized foundry flux designed for zinc and zinc-alloy melting operations. It helps control oxidation, manage dross and support a cleaner molten-metal condition during processing.

Purpose

During zinc melting, oxidation can lead to zinc oxide formation, dross generation and metal losses. ZINCFLUX is used to help control these effects and maintain better melt quality.

Instructions for use :

  • Add ZINCFLUX to the molten zinc at the recommended stage of melting.
  • Distribute the flux evenly over the surface of the melt.
  • Allow sufficient reaction time for the flux to work on the oxide layer and dross.
  • Gently work the surface material where appropriate.
  • Allow the treated dross to separate from the molten zinc.
  • Remove the dross carefully from the surface.
  • Avoid unnecessary agitation after cleaning the melt.
  • Proceed with final melt treatment and pouring.
