MASTER ALLOYS chemicals

MASTER ALLOY

Product Overview

Master Alloys are concentrated alloying materials used in aluminium foundries to introduce specific elements into molten aluminium and precisely adjust the final chemical composition. They help improve alloy consistency, grain structure, mechanical properties and casting performance.

  • ALTi5B1 (ALUMINIUM TITANIUM BORON)
  • ALSR 5%, 10% & 15% (ALUMINIUM STRONTIUM)
  • ALTi 5%, 10% (ALUMINIUM TITANIUM)
  • ALMn 10% & 15% (ALUMINIUM MANGANESE)
  • ALSi 30% (ALUMINIUM SILICON)
  • BORON 8% & 10% (ALUMINIUM BORON)
  • ALCr 10% (ALUMINIUM CHROMIUM)

Advantages :

  • Precise alloy composition control
  • Consistent alloying results
  • Improved mechanical properties
  • Better grain structure and casting quality
  • Easy addition to molten aluminium
  • Suitable for different aluminium alloy grades
  • Helps achieve required metallurgical specifications

Instructions for use :

  • Prepare the required alloy composition and follow the recommended fluxing and melt-cleaning procedure.
  • Degas the molten metal using a suitable degassing tablet or mobile degassing unit, then remove the dross using a small quantity of suitable cover flux.
  • After degassing, add AlTi5B1 Grain Refiner at an application rate of 0.20–0.40% by weight, with the melt temperature maintained between 700–750°C.
  • Add AlSr at an application rate of 0.20–0.40% by weight at a temperature between 700–750°C.
  • Rabble the melt thoroughly to ensure uniform distribution and homogeneity. Allow the melt to stand for 5–10 minutes, then proceed with the next stage of the casting process.
