Product Overview

LOWGAS is a specialized foundry treatment used to help control dissolved gases in molten metal during melting and casting. It supports improved melt quality and helps reduce gas-related casting problems.

Purpose

LOWGAS is used to help manage gases absorbed by molten metal during the melting process and prepare the melt for cleaner, more consistent casting.

Instructions for use :

  • ring the metal to the required melting temperature.
  • Add the recommended quantity of LOWGAS to the molten metal.
  • Allow the treatment to react with the melt.
  • Ensure adequate treatment and circulation within the molten metal.
  • Allow gas and impurities to separate from the melt.
  • Remove the resulting dross carefully.
  • Complete final melt treatment as required.
  • Skim and pour the treated metal.
