Product Overview

Deoxidising Tubes are specialized metallurgical treatment products used in foundry operations to remove dissolved oxygen from molten metal before casting. They help control oxidation, improve melt cleanliness and support better-quality castings.

Purpose

During melting, molten metal can absorb oxygen from the furnace atmosphere. Excess oxygen can contribute to oxide formation, inclusions and casting defects. Deoxidising Tubes are used during melt treatment to help reduce these effects.

Instructions for use :

  • Bring the molten metal to the required treatment temperature.
  • Introduce the Deoxidising Tube into the molten metal.
  • Allow sufficient reaction time for deoxidation.
  • Ensure proper contact between the tube and molten metal.
  • Allow the reaction products to rise to the surface.
  • Remove the resulting dross carefully.
  • Check the melt condition before pouring.
  • Skim and pour the treated metal.
